HISTORIA
Las torres fueron diseadas por el arquitecto
argentino Csar Pelli. La planificacin de las
Torres Petronas comenz el 1 de Enero de
1992, entre otras, pruebas y simulaciones de
viento y cargas estructurales rigurosos en el
diseo. Mobiliario interior se completaron el 1
de enero de 1996, las torres de la Torre 1 y
Torre 2 se complet el 1 de marzo de 1996, y
el primer grupo de personal de Petronas, se
trasladaron a la construccin el 1 de enero de
1997.
HISTORY
The towers were designed by Argentine
architect Csar Pelli. The planning of the
Petronas Towers began January 1, 1992 and
among others, tests and simulations of wind
and structural loads rigorous in design.
Interior furnishings were completed on
January 1, 1996, the towers of Tower 1 and
Tower 2 was completed on March 1, 1996,
and the first group of Petronas staff, moved
into the building on January 1, 1997.

Las torres gemelas fueron construidas en el

Lumpur. Las torres de 88 pisos se construyen

The twin towers were built in the place of the

racetrack in Kuala Lumpur. The 88-floor
towers are constructed largely of reinforced
concrete, with a steel and glass facade
designed to resemble motifs found in Islamic
art, a reflection of Malaysia. Another Islamic
influence on the design is that the cross
section of the towers is based on a Rub Hizb.

Con el apoyo de ncleos de 23 por 23 metros de

hormign y un anillo exterior de super-columnas
muy separadas, las torres utilizan un sistema
estructural sofisticado que se adapte a su perfil
delgado y ofrece 560.000 metros cuadrados de
espacio de oficina libre de columnas. Debajo de
las torres gemelas, un centro comercial, y Dewan
Filharmonik Petronas, la sede de la Orquesta
Filarmnica de Malasia.

With the support of 23 cores and 23 meters of

concrete and an outer ring of widely spaced
super columns, the towers use a sophisticated
structural system that suits its slender profile and
provides 560,000 square meters of office space
free of columns. Below the twin towers, a
shopping mall, and Dewan Filharmonik Petronas,
the home of the Malaysian Philharmonic
Orchestra.

Los interiores de las torres se destacan la

tradicionales como la tela y esculturas
tpicas de la cultura, especialmente
evidente en los halls de entrada del
vestbulo en las torres. Con el fin de
cumplir con los cdigos de construccin
local de la seguridad, las torres tenan que
ser capaces de soportar 65 mph (105 km /

The towers feature a two-story bridge

connecting the two towers on floors 41 and 42,
