Earlier we were taking


readings of HT consumers
manually which had
chances of erroneous
reading due to human

We search different system integrator and found Tata consultancy


Services(TCS) suitable for web based AMR system integrator. They
shown us POC successfully at four different places in Jamshedpur
Distribution as well as Saraikela & Kharsawan power Distribution
area. Thereafter we award PO for WEB based AMR for our high
values consumers. This system have a lot of features which are
very much helpful for us. We had some customized requirement
which they agreed to provide us.

We can see history data of an individual customer any time from


internet. So, there is no chance of human error.

The above is customize report which shows last three month consumption
pattern of any consumer. Based on the above report we can decide whether

The above table shows last three month consumption in tabular form.
This is also helpful to see the consumption pattern of the consumer.

TAMPER REPORT

If any type of tamper is taking place in meter this will come into this
table.

BILLING DATA

On first of every month billing data of every consumer will appear in the
above table and these data can be down loaded in excel format and
uploaded into SAP-ISU billing system.

ALARMS

If there is any abnormality in metering system alarm will generate


and this may go to predefined mobiles as SMS so that officer can take
immediate action.

TCS has customized our requirement to get instantaneous demand. In


the above SLD all green colored boxes shown are meter with modem.
This helps to know the consumers instantaneous demand .

Earlier readings were taken manually. Four nos of vehicle
were hired for this job and ten nos. of officers engaged in
this A summery is given below:
Hire charge of four vehicle/month = ` 1000x4=`4000

On sample basis error was detected for the BEEKAY STEEL
INDUSTRIES LTD
It was found that Y-Phase PT fuse of meter was blown off
and so meter recorded less energy than actual and that
value is 2140745 kWh
Cost of the above energy=`2176306*4.35=` 1201930/If AMR system was not implemented it might have come to our notice after
five to six month as we check normally after the aforesaid period. So loss of
revenue to the company might have continued for the above period i.e.
` 1201930 *5=` 6009654/So, grand total saving for after adopting AMR system
` 288000+`6009654

=` 6297654
