Represents physical WH complex considering Organization &


geographical needs.
Provides overall control parameters- UOM/Storage/Block/Mult pick
proc/ error messages
Storage type : Unique storage space unit within a warehouse no.
Types : Open/bulk/ .Interim
Control : Putaway/Pick/Block & Inventory

STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS IN WM
Storage Section
It is sub-division of Space within Storage type. For ex. Fast moving, medium
moving and Slow moving Section within a High Rack Storage type.
- Storage section indicator for storage section search.
Picking Area
It is same as Storage Section, but is assigned to employee for quick stock
removal process.
Storage Bin : It is smallest storage space where goods are stored or kept.
Storage Bin Type : Used for identifying Storage bins of different dimensions
Types of Storage bins

Quant : It represents Material stock of same feature within Storage Bin.
Defined by: Material/Batch/Stk cat/ Spl stk/Plant/SLOC/SU
Additional Quantity can be added to Quant.
Automatic Quant creation/Deletion by Goods movement only.
Each Quant has unique number.

Material Level Management


Material Master : Update WM Two Views in Material Master
Record after configuring the options within the Master
Record.
Batch Management : Standard Sap Batch management
functions are applicable in WM. Batch number is stored in
Quant.
Shelf Life Management: Standard SAP Shelf life features are
applicable in WM.
Hazardous Material : WM provides storage of Haz. Materials
according to Storage class and Water Pollution Class.
Storage Class : 1- explosives/3B Flammable liquids/6.1 Poisonous/7
Radioactive
WPC : Water Pollution danger level : 1 Minimum; 2 Medium; 3 Extreme
Create Haz. master record based on region code of WH No
Link HMR in Material master
Activate it at Storage Area or Storage section level

Quantity Level Management
Material Storage :
Homogeneous Storage : One material in one Storage bin. Eg. Bulk
Storage
Mixed Storage : More than one material in a storage bin (typically
many small similar materials

Quant Management :
Quant Creation based on Plant/Sloc/Material/Batch/Stk Cat/ Spl.
Stk./SU.
Created/ deleted automatically.
Add Stock for existing material. Only when all characteristics match
the quant details.
Captures Batch and shelf life details.

Quantity Level Management
Storage Unit Management:
To optimize warehouse capacity and control material flow within WH.
Manage Stocks at SU level instead of Quant level.
Logical grouping of one or several amounts of material in container
like a pallet
Storage unit number is assigned for each SU and managed as a unit.
Stock placement via ID point and Stock removal via Pick point for
partial stk removal from SU.

Handling Unit Management :


Logistic unit having packaging materials and grouped goods
Packed, labelled and picked for existing deliveries.
Used for Tracking the material outside.
A HU is created once only.
HU as put-away in WH becomes Storage unit.
