Diana Childhood Years

Diana was born on July 1, 1961, at
Park House near Sandringham,
Norfolk. Her full name at birth was
Diana Frances Spencer. She was
born into an aristocratic family with
Royal blood in the ancestry. Her
father was Viscount Althorp and her
mother Viscountess Althorp.
Unfortunately at the age of 6
Dianas split up and got divorced. As
a result of the divorce there was a
messy custody battle which left an
emotional scar upon Diana.
Diana later revealed how she
remembers hearing the crunch of
her mothers footsteps on the gravel
outside as she left the house.

Diana Childhood Years

Diana was educated first at Boarding
school before spending several years at
West Heath Public School in Kent. Here
she did very well in sport, especially
swimming. She had aspirations to
become a ballet dancer but at 5 feet 8
was deemed to be too tall. On the
academic front Diana was not bright and
eventually failed all her O Levels. She
later recalled happy memories from her
childhood years.
After leaving school she got a job as a
nanny and part time cook. Later she took
a assistant teaching post at a
kindergarten school in Knightsbridge,
London. It was whilst working as an
assistant here that she was first
introduced to her future husband Charles.

Marriage and Divorce

The Royal Wedding, which took place on 29 July 1981 in St Pauls
Cathedral, London, was attended by 3,500 guests, photographed by Lord
Lichfield, watched avidly by approximately one billion people on
televisions around the world and marked as a national holiday in the UK.

Marriage and Divorce

Diana gave birth, on 21 June 1982, to the second in line to the British throne,
Prince William Arthur Philip Louis Mountbatten-Windsor of Wales (Prince
William or Wills as he is sometimes known).
Two years later, on 15 September 1984, Harry was born. He is third in line to
the British throne and his full name is Prince Henry Charles Albert David of
Wales. The Princess had her Prince and two healthy and beautiful young sons.

Marriage and Divorce

The agreement gives Diana and Charles equal access to their children,
Prince William, 14, who is set to succeed his father as King of England, and
his brother, Prince Harry, 11. The children spend most of the year at boarding
school, and have been alternating holidays with each parent, so there seems
little likelihood that the children's lives will be greatly altered.

Death and Legacy

She also continued to experience
the negative aspects of fameher
1997 romance with Egyptian film
producer and playboy Dodi Al-Fayed
caused quite a stir and created a
media frenzy. While visiting Paris,
the couple was involved in a car
crash after trying to escape from the
paparazzi on the night of August 30,
1997.
Diana initially survived the crash,
but later succumbed to her injuries
at a Paris hospital a few hours later.
Al-Fayed and the driver were also
killed, and a bodyguard was
seriously injured. French authorities
investigated the crash and the driver
was found to have a high level of
alcohol in his system at the time of
the accident. The role of the
pursuing photographers in the
tragedy was also scrutinized.

Death and Legacy

In 2007, marking the tenth
anniversary of her death, her
sons, Princes William and Harry,
honored their beloved mother with
a special concert to be held on
what would have been her 46th
birthday. The proceeds of the
event went to charities supported
by Diana and her sons.

Continuing her charitable efforts

is the Diana, Princess of Wales
Memorial Fund. Established after
her death, the fund provides
grants to numerous organizations
and supports initiatives to provide
care to the sick in Africa, help
refugees, and stop the use of land
mines.

Achievements of Princess Diana

Diana was a shy 20-year-old woman when she was thrust into
the media spotlight. Through her marriage to Prince Charles,
she joined one of the most famous families in the world and
became an object of intense media interest. Dianas personal
difficulties are well documented. However to appreciate the
accomplishments of Princess Diana we should not focus on
these human weakness, without exceptions.

Everyone needs to be valued. Everyone has the potential to give
something back if only they had the chance. Princess Diana

Princess Diana was a unique royal; by engaging in her charity work on a

deeply personal level she became a real peoples princess. People from
around the world could identify with her. In particular they appreciated her
heart centred approach to life. She was not just appreciated in her home
country the UK, but around the world. She captured the heart of America
and received much support and encouragement even from American
newspapers.

After giving her time and property to charities and causes ranging
from the treatment of AIDS to the abolition of landmines, her destiny
is clear. She will never be the queen of England, but she will be the
queen of our hearts.

Quotes by Princess Diana

Only do what your heart tells you.
Yes, I do touch. I believe that everyone needs that
Ive always though that people need to feel good about themselves
and I see my role as offering support to them, to provide some light
along the way.
Its vital the monarchy keeps in touch with the people. Its what I try
and do.
I dont go by the rule book, I lead from the heart, not the head
I knew what my job was, it was to go out and meet the people and
love them
I will fight for my children on any level so they can reach their
potential as human beings and in their public duties
I wear my heart on my sleeve.

Quotes by Princess Diana

The kindness and affection from
the public have carried me through
some of the most difficult periods,
and always your love and affection
have eased the journey
I wish all the mothers, fathers and
children out there realize how much
I need them and how much I value
their support.
Id like people to think of me as
someone who cares about them

Quotes by Princess Diana

A woman of great integrity, charm and

charisma who strived to make our world a
better place to live, who could possibly fall
under this statement? Of course it is none
other than our dear Princess Diana. Diana
was an influential woman who diligently
carried out her royal duties and who
interacted with her citizens in every way
that was possible. She was also a woman
who cared about the people in need and
endeavored to make their lives better. On
the other hand, she was also a woman
who constantly gained the attention of the
press due to her love affairs. The
statements made before are probably the
impression Diana has left on everyone, but
do we actually know her as a person?
Surprisingly just like any normal person
Diana had a rough childhood, then a
fulfilling royal life, then a tragic death.
