OVERVIEW
Industrial highbay is one the most common light fixture used for industrial
application and as a user you face lot of challenges in terms of cost &
energy efficiency , with high cost and major disruption associated with
maintenance , its very essential to review your current lighting solution
with the latest energy efficient solution LED.
Now a days customers are looking for a technology which will replace their
existing conventional 150/250 HID luminaires the answer is Bajaj LED
Highbay.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION
Bajaj GIII LED highbay uses COB (Chip on board)
technology for precise optical control to illuminate
the most challenging high bay applications also
saving energy and maintenance cost ..the products
are hassle free and provide safe working
environment.
Applications areas :
Heavy engineering industries.
Industrial bays.
Thermal power stations.
Airport Hangers.
Railway concourse halls.
Warehouses
Gyms

THE COB TECHNOLOGY &

ADVANTAGES
What is COB ?
COB stands for (Chip on Board) , multi LED chips are
packaged together as one lighting module. COB LEDs
have great advantage of thermal resistance, larger
cooling area, better lighting effect and high light
efficacy.

Why COB ?
Due to the small size of the LED chip, Chip-onBoard technology allows for a much higher
packing density than surface mount technology.
This results in higher intensity & greater
uniformity for the user.

The figure below illustrates the differences in the number of LEDs that can
be placed on a 10X10mm square and the resulting power output of the
array

As you can see, by using COB technology, the number of LEDs is 38

times higher than T-Pack technology and 8.5 times higher than surface
mount technology, improving the brightness significantly.

COB TECHNOLOGY
A COB LED device consists of a matrix of LED chips
connected in series and parallel to one another. To ensure
efficient thermal management, the LED chips are installed
on a ceramic plate. Each chip contains both a p-doped and
an n-doped layer. When voltage is applied, the negatively
charged electrons migrate from the n-doped layer towards
the p-doped layer, while the positively charged holes
migrate in the opposite direction. Recombination of
electrons and holes in the active region results in the
emission of blue photons. As blue photons pass through
the phosphor region, some undergo colour conversion to
green, yellow and red photons. White light results from the
combination of photons across the entire visible spectrum.
Depending on the application, light can be directed via the
luminaires secondary optics (e.g. reflectors, diffusors or
lenses).

ADVANTAGES OF COB TECHNOLOGY

Superior Thermal Performance for better lifetime, stability and
reliability.
High-Intensity & High-Uniformity.
The homogeneous light emitted by COB LED modules is unaffected
by individual light points or multi-shadows. Clear contours because
of homogeneous light provided by COB LED technology.

Due to its high energy efficiency, LED technology conserves natural

resources and thereby significantly contributes to the reduction of
the carbon footprint. No mercury is used for LEDs and LEDs do not
produce UV or infrared radiation. Moreover, LED luminaires attract
less insects than other lighting technologies
