By 2021, almost 49.9% of Indias population will be less than
30 years.
Indias working population (15-60 years) will be expanding
while in most of the developed countries and also in some
developing ones it will be contracting.
Indias workforce will surpass that of China by 2040 an aging
world requires workers; India may be in a position to provide
them.

Within Minority Communities, Muslim community require an urgent
and focused attention in the area of skill development majority of
them are engaged in livelihoods based upon traditional skills, trades
and other crafts having low productivity, low income.
Need for their skilling/education is significantly higher than rest of the
population. Large number of them are not able to complete even
secondary level education and hence require Skill Training even
earlier (Sachar Committee).
Due to process of Economic Liberalization, large numbers have been
displaced from their traditional occupations they require innovative
re-skilling and up-gradation of the Skills as Rehabilitation Package.
Best strategy for their Inclusion in socio-economic mainstream of the
nation is through Skilling and Skill Up-gradation.

Placement for wage-employment would be ensured through
NSDC partners / training partners of MANAS.
Self employment to be ensured by the training partners with
NMDFC loans through MANAS. The training partners of MANAS
and MANAS itself will become a Channelizing Agency of
NMDFC for this purpose - to establish link in between
disbursement of credit and self-employment generation
through Skill Development/Skill up-gradation.

Vertical I : Salient Features
Provide a framework with All India coverage (through
NSDC partners and other leading training agencies) and
also linkage with leading international organizations for the
purpose of training / funding /placement.
Provide a wide range of Skill based Courses, of
different durations/ levels, required to fill the estimated
skill gaps in different parts of the country in near future.
Provide a sustainable and scalable model, with great
flexibility, under which Skill training can be funded with
public funds (from various Ministries/Departments and
Govt. Organizations), private funds (CSR contributions) and
if required, partly by the trainees themselves, depending
upon the nature of the training programme.
