needs had different choices of subjects.

randomly.
Study how the choice of the subject was effected by
various psychological, personal and social factors.
All factors have major effects on the choice of
subjects

Study to provide insight for phenomena of specialization

selection and suggest ways and means for improvement.
Data from 300 students of 10 business schools of
Lahore Collected.
Responses w.r.t academic, social, further prospect,
market demand and job prospect factors analyzed.
All factors have a considerable influence over a
students choice of specialization.
Today you can choose from a wide range of MBA
specializations, ranging from an MBA in Financial
Studies, as well as Insurance and Risk Management
Accountancy and Finance, to an MBA in Sports
Management, or even an MBA in Technology. The
trend towards one-year niche, or specialist MBAs,
designed for particular groups of professional people,
appears to be market driven. Some fields may be
nearly impossible to enter without specialized
training.

Master of Business Management (MBA) is typically a 2 year

programme which aims at making a candidate proficient in
all the subjects of management and an expert for one. In
first year of MBA the main focus is on giving students a brief
idea about various subjects of management. In the later
part of the first year they are also introduced with the
specialized areas. In the second year, student has to choose
one specialization of his/her choice from the variety of
specializations available. This is not applicable if students
have taken admission in a specialized course (sectorial
MBA). Choosing a specialization can be a difficult process for
students. It is very important for student to consider their
career goals and professional development before choosing
a specialization.

APPLIED

Analysis of Primary data collected will be done by

Factor Analysis using SPSS software.

Factor analysisis a statistical method used to

describe variability among observed, correlated
variables in terms of a potentially lower number of
unobserved variables calledfactors.

SPSS- Statistical Package for the Social Science.

SPSSis one of the most popular statistical packages

which can perform highly complex data manipulation
and analysis with simple instructions. It is designed for
both interactive and non-interactive (batch) uses.

EXPECTED RESULTS
