PROPOSAL

Executive Summary
Identifying

the factors which may affect


the choices of a student in discriminating
between Finance and Marketing.
The data will be collected from
questionnaire, previous research papers,
journals and articles.
The research would help other students
to estimate the extent to which, what
factors/variables are influencing the
decision in discriminating the choice.

Introduction
The

research analyses factors such as


GPA in Quants, Finance, Marketing,
Economics in the 1st year, educational
background at the degree level,
participation in the specialized
competitions, enrolment in the college
clubs, previous placement scenario and
future job opportunities.
General idea of what factors are
influencing students choices in selecting
their specializations in the 2nd year.

objective has been


formulated with an intention to
estimate the factors affecting the
selection of a course due in the
2nd year as a specialization
The research is analysed through
a questionnaire which would be
circulated among a couple of
colleges.

The scope of the research is based
on the following sample:
Target audience- Students
studying in 1st year (MBA/PGDM).
Organization- The questionnaire
will be circulated in IMT
Hyderabad and NIRMA.

Implications of the Study


Our

research is a fundamental
research, as it will add further
knowledge and data to the
previous study and help students
analyse the variables.

The

research will also help the


professors and the administrative
staff to determine the trends in
the post-graduation field.

papers, journals and articles

data will be analysed through


MS Excel and SAS Enterprise.
Time Period of the research- 26 th
November, 2015 to January 2016.

might be other factors


influencing the research, which
can be determined and stated
after our research begins.

limitations to this research.
