Background

Advantages
- Simple and rugged design, low cost and low maintenance are the

main advantages of induction motors.

Application

- Induction Motor Common use in Industrial motion control system,

as well as in main powered home appliances.

Problem Identification
Electromagnetic forces act between the rotor and stator when the
rotor is performing eccentric motions with respect to the stator.

It is mandatory that forces should be restrain to the limit for the

protection against the deformation of the winding and the rotor
bar.

Objective
The aim of this project is to design the induction motor using FEM
analysis. In our project we will use ANSYS and ANSOFT MAXWELL.
At the initial stage Modeling of I.M will be carried out in Matlab for the
suitable rating. At the later stage the CAD design of Model will be done.
Different Analysis in Ansoft MAXWELL and ANSYS.
1. Electromagnetic analysis & EDDY analysis: For Losses, Flux
Distribution and Flux density Calculation
2. Transient analysis: For forces calculation during the motion of the rotor
at different position
3. Thermal & Structural analysis: For Temperature rise & Deformation
Analysis.
. Finally Designing and analysis of energy efficient Three Phase Induction
Motor along with its different characteristics including Maximum S.C
forces.

Finite Element Method

FEM is a numerical method for solving a differential or integral
equation. It has been applied to a number of physical problems,
where the governing differential equations are available.
Now a days FEM method is so much popular for the
electromagnetic design of any product.
Different Analysis Capability:
1. Magneto-static & Eddy Current Analysis
2. Electrostatic Analysis
3. Thermal Analysis
4. Structural Analysis
5. Computational Fluid Dynamics
