SYNOPSIS
Project Title: BID ME IN Online Shopping and Auction Website

Purpose of the Project: Bid Me In is an online marketplace that allows

users to not only buy and sell products on our website but also negotiate
prices and terms while selling and buying. The website will also feature a
bidding system that is simple to use. Product will be given to that
customer who puts in the highest bid. Buyers can place multiple bids on a
product. Besides, one can also negotiate the price. Buyer can send
requests to the seller to lower the price. The seller can accept or reject
that offer, or make a counter offer.

H/Ws Required:Pentium IV Processor.

256 MB RAM.
40GB Hard Disk space.
S/Ws Required:Operating System: Windows 2000 and its compatible versions.
Database: SQL
Language: ASP .NET

Perspective Users:Admin-Secured net auction provides the complete information related the products for sale and the buyers can bid for
the products and can own them and all this has to be provided and maintained by the administrator, because the
complete auction process is to be kept under control till the product sale gets confirmed. It has to verify the details given
by the buyer and seller the nit has to confirm all the things furnished by the both buyer and seller.

Seller-Sellers want a place where seller can sale their products at a higher price and get maximum benefit out of that.
This is the place where seller can display all his products and sell them. Seller can display all the possible products for
sale and can call the people for the auction then the highest bidder owns the product. Seller can have the benefits
directly without any third party involvement.

ASP.NET

stands for Active Server Pages .NET

ASP.NET is developed by Microsoft.
ASP.NET is used to create web pages and web technologies and is an integral part of
Microsoft's .NET framework vision
As a member of the .NET framework, ASP.NET is a very valuable tool for programmers
and developers
It allows us to build dynamic, rich web sites and web applications using compiled
languages like VB and C#.
ASP.NET is not limited to script languages, it allows you to make use of .NET languages
like C#, J#, VB, etc
It allows developers to build very compelling applications by making use of Visual
Studio, the development tool provided by Microsoft. ASP.NET is purely server-side
technology.
It is built on a common language runtime that can be used on any Windows server to
host powerful ASP.NET web sites and technologies.

Online shopping is the process whereby consumers directly buy goods or

services from a seller in real-time, without an intermediary service, over the
Internet. It is a form of electronic commerce. An online shop, e-shop, estore, internet shop, web shop, web-store, online store, or virtual store
evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a
bricks-and-mortar retailer or in a shopping centre.

Online shopping is the process of buying goods and services from

merchants who sell on the Internet.

The Process Of Shopping Done Over The Internet Is Called Online Shopping.

BID ME IN is an online marketplace that allows users to not only buy and
sell products on our website but also negotiate prices and terms while
selling and buying.

The website will also feature a bidding system that is simple to use.

There are two categories of users i.e. seller (vendor) and buyer (customer).

Firstly, the user has to create an account by registering on BID ME IN.

After registering, user has to give details of his/her product(s) like price of
product, image(s) of the product, starting bid price and other relevant
information.

Users will be able to view the products and decide whether to buy. Users
(buyers) can then buy the product at the asking price, negotiate a lower
price or place a bid (if the seller has agreed to let his product be bid for).

Product will be given to that customer who puts in the highest bid. Buyers
can place multiple bids on a product.

Besides, one can also negotiate the price.

Buyer can send requests to the seller to lower the price.

The seller can accept or reject that offer, or make a counter offer.

In the future, the website will also contain the bid history on a particular
product as well as the bid history of a particular user.

BID ME IN also plans to have online payment service, where buyers can pay
sellers through Credit/Debit Cards or Online bank transfer.

Dynamic web pages will be developed using ASP.NET on MS Visual Studio

2012.

LOGISTICS

The Home Page Contains all the details about how to log in.
If You are a new user you have to first register and then you will be able to
buy products.
The product page contains all the details about the products which are
available.
Search page is also there to search your type of product which are available
in the database. Whatever the customer needs can just select the type of
search and click go button, the page will be available to the customer.
Consumers find a product of interest by visiting the website of the retailer
directly, or do a search.

WISH-LIST SYSTEM

Once you are logged in you can see detailed view of all products with the Product
Serial Code, Product Name, Product Model Name, Company Name and Product
Price.
One can enter the desired quantity he want to purchase. If the quantity entered is
available in the database the product will be added to your wish-list else a
message will be displayed of inconvenience in adding to the wish-list.
After adding to the wish-list one can view his wish list by clicking on the view my
wish-list button .A new page will be open showing your wish list, if one wants
some more items to be added he can click on add more items button or do his
billing by clicking on billing button.

BILLING SYSTEM

A Tab Container is used which contains three tabs :

1. shipping Address Tab
2.Billing Tab
3.Confirm Order Tab.

In shipping address the customer or buyer has to fill all the details demanded in
that particular page then after filling that form the customer can view its bill by
simply clicking on billing tab. After that the customer should click on confirm
order tab where a grid view shows all the detailed information about his product
he bought and also the total bill amount.
After confirming the order the customer has to select the payment mode from the
available options. There the customer has to submitt its payment details.
After this customer will be redirected to bill receipt page where he can download
and print the receipt.

ADMINISTRATOR SYSTEM

An administrator account is a user account that lets you make changes

that will affect other users.
Administrator has got a particular login name and password to which he
has the only right to access. No other user can have access to it.
The Admin maintains and manages all the database including the user
information, product information, cart information, shipping address
information and bill receipt information.
Only the administrator has access to go to the page which contains data
entry, data modification, employee entry, employee modification and to
process order.
The administrator has to manage all the entries and modification that has
to be made in the website.

USER OPERATIONS
User Registration : A User can register himself to appear in the Any Shopping and
may login with his given E-mail Id and password.

Users Login : Users can Shopping by entering his Email Id and password .
Buy Now : The facility provide to User that he can choose the which he wants to
Purchase.

Checkout : When User finish his Shopping then click to Place order & checkout
.Console Returns to Home page of this project.

BuyerThe people always want different things to purchase but in the local market they can have local products only but in this
application buyer can buy any product from any part of the world at a competitive price and own the product. Buyer has to
just confirm his/her details and can participate in the bidding to acquire the product, which is for sale.

VisitorVisitor is nothing but all the people who visits the portal. They can know the information of all the products, which are for
sale under this application. They can have the information.

Brief Description:
On-line auction includes business to business, business to consumer and consumer to consumer auctions. This project will
take the interest of the buyers and sellers. This will enable them to buy and sell products by providing a platform for them to
do so. And all of this will be controlled and coordinated by an administrator.

CONCLUSION

Online shopping is the process whereby consumers directly buy goods or

services from a seller in real-time, without an intermediary service, over the
Internet. It is a form of electronic commerce.

Besides online shopping, BID ME IN provides additional features like online

auction system, bidding for items and price negotiating mechanisms.

BID ME IN combines the useful features of various popular e-commerce sites

and adds to them to provide the user with a wholesome shopping
experience.
