BUILDING REPORT

PREFACE:The RESIDENTIAL project report is an outcome of the case study


undertaken during the practical training for 5 month from 01 July
2015 to 31 November 2015. It has been made out in compliance with
the statutory requirement of
VII semester practical training
programme towards attaining B.Arch degree from the department of
architecture SUNDERDEEP COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE , U.P.T.U,
GHAZIABAD.

SITE CONDITIONS: CLIMATE :Gurgaon is hot and humid In summer, and cold in the winter. The average
temperature ranges from 25C to 46C during summer and 2C to 5C during
winter.
The cold wave from the Himalayan region makes winters very chilly. In
summer, the heat wave is immense and adequate .

WIND :During the monsoon season, winds are mostly from the east or south-east
directions. During rest of the year, winds are predominantly from the west or
north-west directions. The winds have maximum speed of about 7.0 kms/hr
.During May to June and have a minimum average speed of about 3.2 kms/hr
from November to December .

TOPOGRAPHY :-

The topography of the site consists of alluvial soil and rocky in nature.

BUILDING REPORT

RAINFALL :The normal rainfall in the district is about 578 mm spread over 28 days. The
southwest monsoon sets in the last week of June and withdraws towards the end of
the September and contributes about 80% of the annual rainfall. July and August
are the wettest months. 20% of the annual rainfall occurs during the non-monsoon
months in the wake of thunder storms and western disturbances.

HUMIDITY :The relative humidity in the air is generally high during the period of south west
monsoon from July to September. It is about 77% during morning hours and 65%
during evening hours. The minimum humidity of 43% is recorded in May during
morning hours and the maximum relative humidity of 82% is experienced in
August during morning hours. May is the driest month of the year when humidity
is less than -30%.

SEISMIC ZONE :Gugaon lies in seismic zone IV.

BUILDING REPORT

STRUCTURE:CONCRETE WORK:
Providing and laying plain cement concrete of specified
grade as bed concrete under foundation, column footing,
under floor, below road and pathways, coping, screening
at roof to required slope and other locations as called for
laid, consolidated and cured etc. complete as per
specification and drawing including the cost of centering
and shuttering.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES:
After form work has been done reinforcement is laid as
per structural requirements.
Concrete mix then has been laid in layers.
1:2:4 (1 cement : 2 coarse sand : 4 graded stone
aggregate 20 mm and down gauge) used as PCC.

STAIRCASE :
All the staircases are made of RCC .

SPECIFICATIONS:
Bricks are of 1 class
Bricks used are well burnt, free from cracks, to ring when
struck and not to crack or break when soaked in water.
Bricks are regular in shape and uniform in size.
