INTRODUCTION
Sports development
lead by the Ministry
of Youth and Sports
and coordinates by
the MSN and other
sports association
such as KOM, FAM,
BAM, MHF

Sports development
at the school level
(13-19yo) is governed
by the Sports
Division, Ministry of
Education

As the Minister of Youth and

Sports, I get the pleasure and
privilege of working in an area that
is close to the heart of many
Malaysians.
I am determined, that my work in
sports, must have a lasting impact,
covering a wider scope of those
involved in sports something that
perhaps will only come to fruition
after I leave the job. I want to build a
base that will give my country,
athletes that Malaysians can look up
to for generations to come.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Malaysia is facing the crucial problem of producing athletes
that can compete in the international level and produce any
medals in the athletics sports

Watson Nyambek of 10.30s almost 16 years, G Shanti of

11.50s for almost 21 years!!

Where are our next sprinters that can beat these national
records?
The Star (December 20, 2013) : KOM should take the blame for
failing to achieve the target in the SEA Games 2013 which is
their worst ever performance in the history of the Games
since 1959

PROBLEM STATEMENT
The Star (December 29, 2013) : What is both sad and
worrying about the Malaysian situation is the precipitous
decline in our athletics performance even as more
funding and better facilities are being spent on the sport

Many sports development program- sports schools,

sports complex, stadium, facilities NO MEDAL

KOM fail to produce the world class athletes that can

win Olympic medals and even in the SEA Games
