A Descriptive Analysis of Anglicisms used in Ecuadorian
Newspapers.
Cities of Quito and Quevedo.
El Comercio, La Hora, and El Extra (October, 5th to 11th 2010).
Five sections (News, Ads, Social pages, Sports and Reports).
Descriptive and analytical methods.
The level of usage of anglicisms: El Comercio 41.25%,
La Hora 25%, and
El Extra 33.75%.
In conclusion, we could say that, the globalization forces us to
adapt and use anglicisms in our language on a significant level.

To identify syntactic and lexical anglicisms more commonly used

in newspaper material in Ecuador.
full = 103 times, penthouse =16 times,
times, and TV cable = 10 times.

To make a deep analysis of the anglicisms found in Ecuadorian

newspapers regarding etymological, syntactic semantic and
morphological aspects.
etymologically, not all anglicisms come from English.
for example: restaurant comes from French, phone comes from
Greek,
curriculum comes from Latin, yogurt comes from
Turkish, etc.

To determine the written sections of Ecuadorian newspapers in

which anglicisms are mostly used.
They are most common in the ad and report sections.
To know the level of acceptance Ecuadorians have on the use of
anglicisms in newspapers.
The most evident usage of anglicisms is in young people.
