In the year of 1960 it was existing as Kesbewa Village Council
According to the no 15 of Pradeshiya Sabha Act 1987, it was established Kesbewa
Pradeshiya Sabha including Piliyandala, Kesbawa & Boralesgamuwa Area.
04th, January 2006 it was established as Kesbewa Urban Council & Boralesgamuwa
Urban council by the special gazette notification no 15/1426.

Declaration

The area was Declared by the Special Gazette no 56/6 on 01st, October 1979
Power delegation was done in the year of 1985

growth rate, but it has been declined during 20012011.

Conclusion;
-

Boralesgamuwa town is the main commercial center which is


located at the Boralesgamuwa urban area and Verahara and
Papiliyana are other sub centers.

Boralesgamuwa it self doesn't have potential to commercial


development due its location. (Closer to Dehiwala, Maharagama
and other main commercial centers.)

1.47% of land use allocated for Industrial developments.
