HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES (HR)


Not more than 250 MEMBERS, except otherwise provided
by law.
2 KINDS of MEMBERS (also known as CONGRESSMEN)
DISTRICT Representatives (80% of the members)
PARTY-LIST Representatives (20% of the members)

Who should be members of HR?


Natural-born citizens
At least 25 on the day of the election
Able to read and write
Registered voter in the district he seeks to represent
A resident of the said district for at least 1 year
immediately preceding the day of the election

How long will I be in Congress if I


win?
3 years
You are not allowed for more than THREE consecutive
terms.

YES
Only for offenses punishable for not more than 6 years
imprisonment

Can I be charged of oral defamation during heated


debates in Congress if I say something scandalous or
indecent?

NO.
