Integrated Unit Testing Where we fit?

Integrated Unit Testing(IUT) aims to implement "Shift Left" Testing
strategy by combining Quality Assurance (QA) and development parts
of a software project earlier and more deeply in project plan thereby
expanding the testing program and reducing manpower and
equipment needs

Test Automation in IUT

IUT timelines are limited and short when compared to traditional
QA timelines. The overall motive is to detect the maximum number
of defects before the QA testing begins. Considering the limited timespan for IUT and its objectives the project team need to bank on the
following
1.

Use of skilled resources who has good business or application

knowledge who can hover around the defect prone areas of
application and expose defects
2.
Increased test coverage
The second point imply extensive use of automation tools and
solution accelerators that would potentially improve team
productivity

Tools and Solution Accelerators that can be

leveraged - BRT Validation Macro
This is an excel based macro that takes two versions of business rules/admin tables as input say one before code drop and one after code drop
and highlights the differences between the two versions. The output result is then verified manually - Expected mismatches are ignored and
ambiguities are reported.
Inhouse Test Automation Framework
Agnostic hybrid automation framework that combines the best practices of keyword driven and data driven approaches.
Excel Comparator
A useful solution to compare similar datasets/extracts exported in excel formats in order to detect discrepancies.
Cognizant proprietary tool for PDF Validation PDF Automation PRO
PDF Automation Pro is an E2E PDF validation solution that greatly reduces the manual effort required for PDF document validations. It is built with
comprehensive features that addresses the key dimensions of PDF validation viz., comparison, extraction and validation
