Burns are one of the most

devastating
conditions
encountered in health
? settings. It
represents an assault on all
aspects of the patients life. It
affects all ages and is a problem
in both the developed and
developing world.

Burns related injuries occupy

the third major position and
the third leading cause of
morbidity across different
places. Over 95% of fatal fire
related burns occur in low
and middle income countries.

In Egypt, burn injuries and their

squeal are estimated to be
approximately one in every
thousand .It was also reported
that burns constitute 12.5% of all
hospital
admissions.
Burned
patients receiving health care are
at risk of becoming infected,
unless strict precautions are
taken to prevent such problem .

in July,2015.

Recent C.D.C GUIDELINES

According to recent CDC

guidelines,
infection
prevention
and
control
must be made a priority in
any
setting,
where
healthcare is delivered.

The following
recommendations are
suggested:

Update in-service
training programs
for all nurses
working at burn
units annually.

Annual recent
CDC guidelines
about nursing
interventions for
burn patients
should be
available at the
burn units

FUTURE RESEARCH
Identifying

hindering
nurses
application of
standard
infection
control
practices for
Burn patients.

FUTURE RESEARCH
Developing
standards of
safe nursing
care practices .
