LONGBOWS
How can the souvenir be improved? How do you think other civilizations
or people can improve this item?
I think that this souvenir can be improved if the string was stronger.
Then, the string wont move around a lot such as bouncing around or
waving around. If the string was stronger, the arrow would shoot a longer
distance. Also, a longer distance means a better chance of shooting at the
other person. That means either:
a) The kingdom will fall
b) The attackers will fail
c) Both might have and equal chance to win the kingdom or defeat the
enemies
The Japanese can improve this item with their strong string. Their string
is really strong. Their strong string is called the bowstring, made for
bows. Attach it on to the bow and then voil, you got a good longbow!

Compare how we use the item today. Are there similarities or differences?
We dont really use longbows today. In the Medieval times, they used longbows
to shoot people at the War of Roses. Medieval longbows were usually made of
wood felt. They did not have high accuracy. The medieval also used longbows to
hunt animals and for fun. Sometimes, they even used longbows to target so in
battle, their accuracy would be a greater chance to kill the other player.
Now, for bows, we use more adapted ones such as mechanic bows and toy bows.
Mechanic bows now have much higher accuracy and toy bows dont really have
high accuracy. Some toy bows are like the medieval bows, but theyre made of
plastic. They also dont have accuracy because you just use them to play.
Mechanic longbows have high accuracy because:
a) Its mechanical
b) Its more adapted over the years
c) People learning history have made observations how to improve the bows
d) Since many bows were used in the Middle ages and they werent that well,
many people have wanted to improve the bow a lot

EXTRA INFORMATION
ABOUT THE WAR OF ROSES
The War of Roses was a war that began in 1455 and ended
in 1487. That would be a war that lasted for 32 years! What
a war! It all started when the House of Lancaster (the red
rose) and the House of York (the white rose) started
fighting in the First battle of St. Albans. Several
Lancastrians died, but their teammates continued the
deadly war against the Yorkists. Eventually, this war turned
into a serious memory to the Lancastrians and the Yorkists,
making them rivals. This made the 2 nd war of the year
between them two, and this war wasnt short, but long. It
was 32 years of fighting and nobody knew how many
Lancastrians and Yorkists died. They just fought for their
Houses and tried to win back some land and loyalty. After
the 32 year war, the Lancastrians successfully defeated the
Yorkists.
