[3][4][non-primary source needed]

Thiamethoxam is a broad-spectrum, systemic insecticide, which means it is

absorbed quickly by plants and transported to all of its parts, including
pollen, where it acts to deter insect feeding.[citation needed] An insect can absorb it in
its stomach after feeding, or through direct contact, including through its
tracheal system. The compound gets in the way of information transfer
between nerve cells by interfering with nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in
the central nervous system, and eventually paralyzes the muscles of the
insects

. Thiamethoxam effectively controls sucking and chewing insects, including
aphids, whitefly, thrips, ricehoppers, ricebugs, mealybugs, white grubs, potato
beetles, flea beetles, wireworms, ground beetles, leaf miners and some
lepidopterous species

Bifenthrin

features:

1.Insecticide of contact and stomach action

2. Effectively against broad range of foliar pests, including Coleoptera, diptera,
heteroptera, homoptera, lepidoptera and orthoptera
3. It kills insects on crops including cereals, citrus, cotton, fruit, grapes, ornamentals and
vegetables

Uses
Bifenthrin is used regularly as an insecticide to target red imported fire ants. Other target
species are aphids, worms, ants, gnats, moths, beetles, grasshoppers, mites, midges,
spiders, ticks, yellow jackets, maggots, thrips, caterpillars, flies, and fleas (#EPA). It is often
used in orchards, nurseries, and homes (#CDPR). Agriculturally, it is registered for use on
greenhouse ornamentals and cotton (#EXTOXNET). It is used extensively on some crops,
including corn. Roughly 70% of all US-grown hops and raspberries are treated with
bifenthrin

Lufenuron

Mode of action Acts mostly by ingestion; larvae are unable

to moult, and also cease feeding. Uses Insect growth
regulator for control of Lepidoptera and Coleoptera larvae
on cotton, maize and vegetables; and citrus whitefly and
rust mites on citrus fruit, at 10-50 g/ha. Also for the
prevention and control of flea infestations on pets.
Formulation types EC. Compatibility Not compatible with
pesticides with alkaline reaction (lime sulfur, copper).
