Statement of problem

During placements in GLIM, students face a lot of dilemma in choosing the

companies to attend interview process.

The placement for the PGPM batch saw leading recruiters like Cognizant,
Deloitte, Genpact, HCL, NIIT Limited, Oxigen, ShopClues, Kotak Mahindra,
Happay, KPMG, etc.

Students are unable to develop a prioritized decision based on multiple

parameters which can lead to a conundrum in selecting the most suitable
company from the given set of options.

Why this study is important

This Project will help students to address the issue of which company to
select based on multiple criteria and preferences.

It will provide a tool for the students through which they can make a precise
choice of selecting companies during their placements.

Methodology

When multiple objectives are important to a decision maker, it is effective to

choose Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and make the best decision.

AHP is a structured technique for organizing and analysing complex decisions,

using mathematics and psychology.

AHP is utilized and applied in finding the weights and priority of the decision
criteria as well as the company selection.

Data Collection

The decision criteria identified in this project are CTC, Brand, Employee
Culture, Growth Prospects, Location and Roles offered.

We interacted with PGPM and PGDM students to understand the basic criteria
to take into consideration.

After finalizing the criteria, a sample of 50 students was selected and the
mode of decision criteria was used to come up with the comparative values.

Solution Approach: Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)

Model

Step1:

Step 2: Pair wise Comparison (Preference Scale)

Step 5: Pairwise Comparison Matrix CTC (Cost to Company)

Step 6: Proportion Percentage Matrix CTC (Cost to Company)

Step 7: Pairwise Comparison Matrix BRAND

Step 8: Proportion Percentage Matrix- BRAND

Step 9: Pairwise Comparison Matrix Growth

Step 10: Proportion Percentage Matrix- Growth

Step 11: Pairwise Comparison Matrix- Employee Culture

Step 12: Proportion Percentage Matrix- Employee Culture

Step 13: Pairwise Comparison Matrix- Location

Step 14: Proportion Percentage Matrix- Location

Step 13: Pairwise Comparison Matrix-Role

Step 14: Proportion Percentage Matrix- Role

Consistency Ratio computations for the model

We calculated consistency ratio for six pairwise comparison matrices (one for each criterion
comparing 6 companies).
CR values for all pairwise comparisons are less than 0.1. This shows consistency of our preferences.

Step 15: Overall Priority of Companies(Table 1.1)

Solution Interpretation:

As provided in table 1.1, Deloitte and Cognizant were preferred over others when
the criteria was CTC and location.

Deloitte was preferred over other companies when the criteria was brand and
employee culture.

Cognizant was preferred over other companies when the selection criteria was
role.

When the criteria was Growth prospects, Oxigen and shopclues were preferred
over others.

HCL was the least preferred company in all the criteria.

Benefits:

The solution of the study will help the students apply to the companies during
placements in the order of preference.

In case a student gets offer from two or more companies he can use the results of
the study to decide which offer to accept.

Decisions:
