About Dr. Kurien

Born in Kozhikode, Kerala on the 26th of

November 1921.
Father of the White Revolution
Family- Molly Kurien , Nirmala,

Siddharth.

His Education
He did his graduation in Physics from Loyola College,

Madras in 1940
Mechanical engineering from the College of
Engineering, Guindy.
Joined the Tata Steel Technical Institute, Jamshedpur.
Got a specialized training in dairying at the National
Dairy Research Institute, Bangalore.
Got scholarship from the Government of India
Went to the United States to earn a Master of Science
in Mechanical Engineering (Distinction) from Michigan
State University in 1948.

The Promise
Came back to Anand on 13th May 1949.
To complete the agreement he to joined the

government creamery.
The salary was Rs.600 per month.
Wanted to get rid of this job but this was the

time revolutionized Indias diary.
