and going to get ice cream from his favorite shop.
His wife, Ana, loves him very much. They have
been married to him for 27 years, They have been
married to him for 27 years, but there is a target
behavior that needs change. He was identified for
intervention because he has a habit of not putting
any articles of clothing in the hamper that is
located in the master bathroom which disrupts the
organization and cleanliness of their home.

Target Behavior
The target behavior to be change is
Duanes habit of putting all articles of
clothing on the floor than in the
appropriate hamper. Though his wife
asks him several times ( 10 times in
the week) to put his clothes in the
hamper, he is non-compliant with
the request.

Baseline Data

conducted to see his non-compliant
behavior after being asked six times
during a three day observation.

Conclusion
The Behavior Intervention Plan is working for Duane. The reduction in target
behavior is a good result, over a very short period. Though his behavior improved
overall, his wife noticed a pattern for his non-compliant behavior. The pattern
was at midweek; Duane had a higher tendency in reverting back to his old
behaviors. He would avoid doing the task by using all his non-compliant
behavior. His wife connected that at midweek when he had already worked 36
hours, he would revert to the targeted behavior. His wife decided to give him
credit for the task even when putting one piece of clothing in the hamper or in
the wrong-labeled hamper.
As he increases his articles of clothes in the hamper, Duane may need to have
rewards given to him in percentages. The following are examples how to do use
percentage to determine happy faces: two articles (50%) a happy face, and for
three to four (100%) a full face. As he is more consistent with the positive
behavior, his rewards may need to increase to higher stakes ones such as (small
staycations in Texas during long weekends ).For now, his wife is encouraged to
continue with this reward system until Duane can attain expectations
successfully, and percentage of success can be predicted to 80-90%. He will
continue to require verbal praises frequently to increase to this level of success.
