Language and Religion

English and French are the official languages

Christianity (74%) is the primary religion

Followed by:

Banff National Park

Oldest national park established in 1885. Mostly forest, but also contains
glaciers and meadows. Park has man wildlife species including bears, wolves,
cougars, deer, and moose. The park attracts over 4 million annual visitors.
The park is best for climbing, skiing, hiking, and camping

Tourist Attraction 2

Niagara Falls

Located on Niagara River at the U.S.- Canada border. Most powerful waterfall
in North America. Canada side of the falls includes underground walkways,
observation towers, gardens, and cable cars. Over 20 million annual visitors
to Niagara Falls

National Cuisine

English speaking Canada similar to U.S., Quebec has French cuisine

Depends on part of Canada

Fish and Brewis-Newfoundland recipe, ingredients stored through winter

Turnips and Tongue-Northern Canada recipe. Slow cooks buffalo tongue with
onion, celery, and turnips

Canada takes pride in remaining peaceful, however military is engaged when


war in unavoidable

Canada embraces their history and atmosphere, but they are a technology
based economy

Canadians celebrate Halloween like we do, however they seem more


superstitious about evil spirits and witches on Halloween

Designed to catch bad dreams, while allowing good dreams to visit

Hand Gestures

Gestures seem to be the same as in the U.S

Handshakes and hugs are most common when greeting people as well as
saying goodbye

Meetings normally begin with a handshake, similar to U.S

Canada is more formal when it comes to addressing people by their proper


names and professional titles

Body language is the same as in the U.S

Similar to United States, tends to be more reserved in Canada

As time goes on, becomes more informal with teasing and talk about
personal lives

Canadians very polite, and keep business communication direct/formal

Canadians dont debate as much as Americans, emphasize tolerance

Business is done at a slower pace than in the United States, decisions and
