BIM Assignment 1

Requirements:
Students are required to use the site file as per provided in the lab as the basis
to develop their assignment which is to model a Sustainable Design Bungalow
of their choice.
Please note that the model of the building is to fit with-in the road constraints
of the given site.
Students are to find a house design with at least 2 storeys in height and has
configurations and dimensional proportion to fit into the constraints of the site.
The building could be partially sub terrain (your choice)
Students can either scan the plans elevations and sections of the building they
selected and ensure that the plans and elevations are scaled to 1:100 whilst
the sections area to be scaled at 1:50
Note :
Difficulty of modelling is based on their choice of building selected. Too
complex may render unsuccessful completion of project, whilst too simplistic a
built form may not demonstrate skills learnt. So please choose appropriately.
This assignment would not be graded on your design prowess but rather your
BIM modelling skills

Objective:
To demonstrate students understanding of the modelling tool based on the skills
obtained from the workshop training thus far and their capability deliver a LOD 200
model for schematic design.
Additional bonus points would be awarded should they demonstrate aptitude to
research on building yet to be taught or new methods of modelling.

Deliverables:
To model a schematic design intent house with appropriate refinement to object
detail as covered in the Lectures.
The model must be able to extract views to a design sheet with-in revit.
Final deliverable is a set of A3-A2 drawings that may include but not limited to the
following:
Site Plan at 1:200
Plans at 1:100
Elevations at 1:100
Sections at 1:50
3D views of your choice and minimum 1 external perspective and 1 interior
perspective and 1 internal 3D sectional cut at an appropriate section as
determined in Revit.
