MALIGAYA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL


FY 2016 TO FY 2018
Executive Summary

As stated in the vision of the Department of Education, Maligaya


Elementary School continuously improves itself to provide quality
basic education through its programs and projects which are
responsive to the needs, interests and aptitudes of learners.
Specifically, it focuses on improving the reading comprehension
skills, health and nutritional status of the learners, constructing
intervention materials in Reading, increasing the Enrolment rate and
participation of Alumni in the Brigada Eskwela.

The following programs and projects are designed to attain its


goals; Every Child A Reading Program, School-Based Feeding
Program, Instructional Materials Development Project, BalikEskwela Program, and Alumni Kabisig Program.
To ensure the successful implementation of the School
Improvement Plan (SIP), the School Planning Team will conduct
mid- year and year-end assessment using the Project Monitoring
Report Form. The result of the monitoring will be discussed both
by the School Planning Team (SPT) and Project Team (PT) in order
to come up with Recommendations/Action Points.

Vision

We dream of Filipinos who passionately love their country and


whose values and competencies enable them to realize their full
potentials and contribute meaningfully to building the nation. As a
learner centered public institution, the Department of Education
continuously improve itself to better serve its stakeholders.

Mission

To protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality,


equitable, culture-based and basic education where:
-students learn in a child-friendly, gender sensitive, safe and
motivating environment
-teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner
-administrative and staff as stewards of the institution, ensure an
enabling environment for effective learning to happen
-family, community and other stakeholders are actively engaged
and share responsibility for developing life-long learners,

B. School Situation

Maligaya Elementary School has a total population of 219 pupils. Of this


number, 116 are males and 102 are females. There are seven teachers of which 1
is a master teacher, 4 T-III and 2 T-I headed by a School Principal I.
The school is situated at Brgy. Mariquet, Solsona, Ilocos Norte, 5 km. away
east of the poblacion. It is accessible to all kinds of vehicles. Most of the people in
the school community are engaged in farming and small scale businesses,
The school garnered fourth place in the Best Brigada Implementer of the
Schools Division of Ilocos Norte. The average mean of the NAT is 86.94.
Despite the laurels that the school has achieved, it faces several problems that
must be addressed such as the following: 1,) poor reading ability of Grades 1pupils 2.) poor nutritional status of pupils 3.) decreasing enrolment rate of Grades
4-6 pupils 4.) lack of intervention materials in Reading and 5.) non-functional
Alumni Organization.

V. MONITORING AND EVALUATION


To ensure the success of the implementation of the School
Improvement Plan (SIP), the School Planning Team will conduct midyear and year-end assessment using the Project Monitoring Report
Form. The result of the monitoring will be discussed both by the
School Planning Team (SPT) and Project Team in order to come up
with Recommendations/Action Points.
