MENTOR INFORMATION
ISM
ISM is a program where students get to explore what they
want their career to be in the future. They choose where they
want to go and they also get a mentor/instructor to tell
educate them about that certain career. The students have to
get 3 hours of being with the mentor, 2 activity hours, a
journal due every Monday, and a final major project that is due
at the end of the semester.

PATIENTS NEEDS
When in post-graduate or early training you actually learn about how to deal with
dying patients and their relatives/close friends.
Every moment when there is a dying patient you should always take it as an
educational experience about how to deal with it.
AGE DIFFERENCES
Age differences are actually really important when dealing with dying patients in
the ICU
Older nurses usually do better when dealing with the patient, because they know
how to handle things better and they have had a little more experience.
Younger patients do not do well, because they are more emotional towards the
situation.
FACTS
MY PROJECT
For my project I will be making a brochure on how to deal with a loved one who is
dying. It will demonstrate on how to cope when dealing with the patient, the
feelings you may have, and who to talk to when in this situation.
