Risk Assessment

Risk 1
Risk:

Solution:

The use of a sharp object for a prop, such as

a knife.

To avoid this risk we could purchase a Prop

Knife. This is a knife which looks realistic but
is made of a material such as plastic. This
means that it is not sharp and therefore
removes the risk of someone becoming
injured.

Reason:
This is a risk because someone could cut
themselves as the object is extremely sharp.
Someone could also trip and fall on the knife
which could result in serious injury.

Risk 2
Risk:

Solution:

Offending, disturbing or scary the public.

We will need to ensure that we act sensibly

and appropriately for the environment in
which we are filming. If anyone asks us to
move then we shall be respectful of this
request. We shall make sure that we will not
be too loud as this may be annoyance to
nearby residents.

Reason:
As we have chosen to film in a church people
may be offended if we are not acting
appropriately. Also, as the church is
surrounded by houses so we could possibly
disturb people by making too much noise.

Risk 3
Risk:

Solution:

Filming in the dark.

To avoid this we shall film during the daytime

so that we can clearly see where we are
walking which will reduce the chance of
someone tripping and falling.

Reason:
We will not be able to see where we are going
very well as the area is poorly lit and the
ground is uneven. This could result in
someone tripping and hurting themselves.

Risk 4
Risk:

Solution:

Icy paths/roads.

To avoid this we can plan to film earlier on

before winter sets in, this could reduce the
chance of there being ice whilst we are
filming. If there is prolonged icy, cold whether
then we will have to be careful to avoid
extremely icy paths when we are filming in
order to minimise the chance of injury.

Reason:
As we will be filming during early winter there
is a possible risk of ice due to the colder
weather. If a path was to become very icy this
could introduce a risk of someone slipping
and injuring themselves.

Risk 5
Risk:

Solution:

Traffic.

To avoid this we can make sure that we stay

very aware of any surrounding traffic in order
to make sure that we do not get in the way of
any moving vehicles. We can also make sure
that we do not stay near the road for any
prolonged periods of time.

Reason:
As the church is nearby a road and cars are
able to drive directly up to the church there is
a risk of us being in danger but also the risk
of distracting drivers.

Risk 6
Risk:

Solution:

Tracking shots.

We will need to ensure that the path where

the camera operator needs to walk is clear
and free of any objects that could cause them
to trip.

Reason:
If tracking shots are used then it will require
the camera operator to move with the
camera. This could result in the camera
operation tripping, injuring themselves as
well as possibly damaging the equipment.
