The Characteristics of
Tropical Climate
1. The high rainfall intensity
2. High Humidity
3. The temperature is hot until
convenient
4. Fewer air flow (wind)
5. The sun shines all year roung
6. Small heat exchange caused by high
humidity
The Characteristics of
Tropical Building
1. Heavy rainfall coped with a steep roof slope
2. High humidity, addressed to:
- Using porous walls of the building
- The building has two types of windows, temporal and
permanent. We can use temporal window during the
daytime.
3. Direct ray radiation can be overcome by using sun
shading.
4. The moist air, moist soil, and the heat turning radiation
from the ground caused the air saturated. This situation
can be overcome by lifting the floor of the building to
allow air to flow under the building.
