About G Plus
We bring forth Guwahati and its distinct aura through our weekly tabloid G PLUS,
an English weekly offering for the evolved and informed Guwahatians with local
essence with a global outlook! It is an infotainment tabloid that captures the true
interest and feel of the gateway to the North East India.
With a distinct flavour of the city, the tabloid provides an exciting collection of well
researched and creative stories, opinions along with analytical and incisive insights
besides interesting features and snippets from segments like news analysis on city,
vox populi, business, space, fashion & lifestyle, society, events, careers, life, reviews,
travel, etc.
G PLUS aims to become the soul of the city by connecting with its people through
integrated dynamics. G PLUS will be the pulse of Guwahati living, rising and
growing with the city.
Departments
The G Plus tabloid is a combined effort of the various departments which
may be described broadly as :
Journalists :
G Plus being a weekly newspaper requires the journalists to focus and capture
Guwahati news that is more analytical thereby producing concise and accurate copy
according to the newspaper's house style and to strict deadlines.
In order to do so the team of journalists builds contacts to maintain a flow of news,
for example, police and emergency services, local council, community groups, health
trusts, press officers from a variety of organisations, the general public

selected to run. The latter decision is in the hands of a
person whose title is usually editor .The editor
ensures that the newspaper carries content that is
credible and not plagiarized . The editor has to make
a judicious follow-up of a seemingly promising
paragraph or sometimes even make further enquiry
before finalising the story and give it the perfect
Publishing - from making simple text pages, keeping important content up to date,
to writing and creating rich media like photos, videos, and info graphics that tell the
stories of your work.
Mobilization - pushing content out to various supporter lists through the social
media, content promotion that helps increase the reach of the brand
Rules and conventions are set while deciding the layout , which is done by the
graphic designer in co ordination with the editor.
The editor is required to share the stories to be featured in the specific issue to the
graphic designer / layout team , who would help give the final product. It however
undergoes proof reading by the editorial team to close gaps if any.
Advertisement Sales : The Ad sales team is basically involved in driving the revenue
for the newspaper by perusing prospective advertisers for the newspaper. There are
specific rates that are maintained with respect to specific pages in which the ad will
be carried.
