Question:
WHY DOES TEENAGE PREGNANCY IS A SOCIAL
ISSUE BY ITSELF?

Why is it a
social
issue?

Teenage pregnancy is pregnancy in

human females under the age of 20 at
the time that the pregnancy ends.
Teen pregnancy is one of the most
difficult experiences a young person
might ever face when it interrupts school
or other plans. It can create an emotional
crisis resulting in feelings of shame and
fear, and it may appear that you will
crumble under pressures in your
environment. It is a social issue since this
influences and is opposed by a
considerable number of individuals within
a society.

20. Thats nearly 750,000 teen pregnancies every year.

school. More than 50% of teen mothers never graduate from
high school.
About 25% of teen moms have a 2nd child within 24 months
of their first baby.
Less than 2% of teen moms earn a college degree by age
30.
Honduras has the second place of the highest teen
pregnancy rates of the world.

A sexually active teen who doesnt use contraceptives has a
90% chance of becoming pregnant within a year.

Quantitative
Research

We will choose the quantitative research since it

uses the recollection and analysis of data to
answer questions and prove hypothesis.
It compliments perfectly with our topic since we
have to research for data, convert our problem
into questions, we have to develop a plan so we
can prove it, we have to study our variables,
analyze all the information obtained and finally
draw our conclusions regarding our main
hypothesis.

Why do we choose this topic?

We choose the topic of teenage pregnancy, since it is the most trending
theme in these past years. We all know the meaning of it with just reading it,
but we really dont know the causes for why this happened.
Teenage pregnancy is a serious problem especially in Latin countries, data
and information has established that Latin countries have the highest rates in
terms of teenage pregnancies all over the world.
In conclusion we choose it to study very well our problem and find a solution
to stop finally this social issue.
