Why recruiting someone from abroad

Demographic reasons
Relative low unemployment rate in Central Denmark Region 5,1 %
- 31.318
persons unemployed.
Bottle neck problems (e.g. electricians, concrete workers, CNC
turners, cleaning,
shops, newspapers etc.)
Special skills engineers, IT sector and health sector (e.g.
experienced engineers
within oil & gas, language, export market, culture, national/local
network)

Work during your study rules and

regulations

Nordic citizens are allowed to work full time without permit

EU Citizens are allowed to work as much as you like (you might
have to change you status from student to worker if you work more
than 15-20 hours/week ask the Regional State Administration)
Non EU citizens
- You are allowedto work 20 hours a week (arrival after January 1 st
2015)
- Full time work during the months of June, July and August
- Sticker in your passport

Tips
Remember it is mandatory for Danish employers to sign a contract
There is no minimum salary in Denmark you can always ask a
Danish union
Don't work illegally in Denmark e.g. without contract or more than

CV

Starting to Write your CV

15 seconds

Is your own personal marketing tool, as it provides the frst impression that a prospective
employer has of you.

Simplicity is always best. No fluffy language and simple lay out. - unless you are applying for a
graphic design position. Avoid using too fancy and complicated decorative fonts and colors.
Make it easy for the employer to read and fnd the relevant information he or she requires.

A good CV is clear, concise and easy to read. Make use of bullet points and headings to provide
a clear framework and make the information easy to follow.

A CV should be a presentation of you skills and competences not a history book.

Max. two pages.

English or Danish ?

Make sure any breaks in your CV are explained (e.g. 2005-2006 Traveling in the States), to give
a full account of both your career history and what you were doing when you were not
employed.

It might sound obvious, but be honest. Never try to play with dates and jobs to hide periods of
unemployment. The most basic of checks will expose your deceit and ruin any chance of getting
the job.

Documentation: do not send documentation (unless mentioned in the job ad).

Have someone read over your CV!
Do a spell check! You would be surprised to
know how many silly spelling mistakes we see. I
speak fluent Englesh, Inglish, Eniglish, does not
really instill confdence.
Save your CV as a Pdf-fle and print it. Even if
you are going to send it by e-mail, the company
will always print it out and you need to check
that the format is still the same.

Preparing your Letter of Motivation

Start by

Researching the company well

Reading over the job description thoroughly

Preparing your letter by thinking about the following points;

1. Why do you think you are specifically suitable for the role?
2. What are the competences you possess that match the role?
3. Why would you want to work for that particular company?

Letter of Motivation
Your letter of motivation should be no longer than one A4 page and
should have a clear structure
1. Address the letter to the person responsible for recruiting the role.
Make sure you detail the title of the role you are applying for and
include any information ie. job reference number that you have
been asked to supply.
2. State that you are both interested in the job and confident that you
have the skills and experience that they are looking for. Tell them
where they will find the evidence of that (your enclosed CV).
3. Pick the top 5 essential requirements from the advertisement and
answer them carefully.
5. Make sure you close positively - "I look forward to meeting you at
interview to discuss further"
