Khalifas
Rai Aun Iqbal
The Four
Caliphs
Hazrat Abu Bakr (632-634 A.D.)
Hazrat Umar (634-644 A.D.)
Hazrat Usman (644-656 A.D.)
Hazrat Ali (656-661 A.D.)
Hazrat Usman
Hazrat Usman was the third caliph and was the Khalifa for 12 years, the most by
Khalifa.
Hazrat Usman was also the son in law of the Holy Prophet.
He directed Hazrat Zaid bin Sabit (R.A) to make multiple copies of the same
Quran written in the time of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A).
This was very important as now no changes could be made to the Quran.
Hazrat Usman
Hazrat Usman also expanded the Islamic empire and spread the religion to many
new lands.
They took over Antalya and Asia Minor in the west including Cyprus. Afghanistan,
Samarkand, Tashkent, Turkmenistan, Khurasan and Tabaristan in the East and
North East; and Libya, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco in North Africa.
Most of these lands are still dominated by Muslims because of the expansion
under Hazrat Usman.
Hazrat Ali
Hazrat Ali was also a member or Quraish tribe like all other Caliphs.
He was the son of Hazrat Abu-Talib
Hazrat Ali was taken under the care of the Holy Prophet at the age of five.
He was also the son in law of the Holy Prophet as he married Hazrat Fatima, the
daughter of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
