The conservation of the environment and of the
species that live in it will only be possible when
we succeed in changing or modifying the
attitude of people and society towards their
environment.

Environmental degradation is one of the ten threats

officially cautioned by theHigh-level Panel on Threats,
Challenges and Changeof the United Nations.
TheUnited Nations International Strategy for Disaster
Reductiondefines environmental degradation as "The
reduction of the capacity of the environment to meet
social and ecological objectives, and needs".
Environmental degradation is of many types.

What should be the Environmental

Education Objectives of this program?

 To give a knowledge of those concepts necessary for an

understanding of the global environment;
The development of activities related to environmental
problems;
To make people aware of the need to manage the
environment democratically;
To create a feeling of empathy with nature;
The acquisition of those fundamentals necessary to
understand the characteristics of human actions on the
environment, their consequences and contexts..

As you can see, there are a lot of things that can

have an effect on the environment. If we are not
careful, we can contribute to the environmental
degradation that is occurring all around the world. We
can take action to stop it and take care of the world
that we live in by providing environmental education to
the people which will help them pick familiarity with
their surroundings that will enable to take care of
environmental concerns thus making it more useful and
