Setting Targets with Students

Previously Minimum Target Grade based on

average GCSE score, used ALPS to determine, no
discussion, the same for all subjects.
To be replaced by Agreed Target Grade based on
average GCSE score, using Six Dimensions data,
involves discussion and agreement, depends on the
subject.

The Process
Students consider what their target grade should be,
considering their average GCSE score, and what actions
will be necessary to achieve it.
Discuss and settle on Agreed Target Grade (ATG) with
each student, to be entered on Promonitor at the next
Progress Review (January).

The Benefits
Agreed Target Grades can be different for each subject.
Having been discussed and agreed, students should feel
greater ownership and preparedness to engage with the
necessary actions to achieve them.
