Intellectual Development

Intellectual Development is a factor in


establishing a well-structured wellness
program as it helps restore the self-esteem of
clients. Their minds become open to ideas
and clients intellect does not cease to feed on
a free interchange of opinions. Thus, providing
opportunities for learning and education will
facilitate regaining clients human quality and
self-respect.
The following are the programs that
can be implemented by the BCSC:

Educational Lectures
SEMINARS

Seminars are activities that provide


intellectual stimulation and seek personal
involvement among the residents. It is a way
of providing information, improving the
clients speaking and writing abilities and
enhancing their listening abilities so as to
understand all the the information.

E.g.
1. Discussion Open format and allows
group discussion
2. Data Session Given specific information
and games.
3. Games mind-expanding activities to
stimulate thought, creativity and
imagination.

Basic Writing and Reading Sessions

Art and Music Therapy
2 Hours a week
Information Drive on Stress and Anger
Management 2 Hours per topic
Health Awareness Seminar on Personal
Hygiene, Smoking Cessation 2 Hours per topic
Educational/Recreational Activities (E.g. 2 Hours per week
Sports)
GROUP ACTIVITIES

These are recreational events purposely


to instill fun, humor and entertainment that
gives a chance to socialize and let the
clients develop talents thru presentations
and games.
Psychomotor Development
Vocational Skills Program
The development of vocational skills starts
at the moment that the client is designated a
job function. It aims to challenge the clients to
learn vocational skills and develop their
attitudes. This part of the wellness program
aims to help the clients become less
dependent and adapt by himself.
