Automation with CFC and Structured Text (ST)
OPC-Client - Communication
OPC
Data exchange and communication with OPC Server
Client
using the OPC Client
The communication partner OPC Server can be located
on the same PC or on another PC connected with TCP/IP (Ethernet)
The open communication can especially be used for the data exchange with
automation devices e.g. SIMATIC
Example
A Simatic S7-400 is connected to a SICAM PAS Station Unit through a CP1613
and via the Ethernet. The communication used between the S7-400 and the
CP1613 is the S7 protocol. An OPC server for the CP1613 card is available
from SIMATIC. In this way data can be exchanged with the SICAM PAS OPC
Client.

Automation - CFC
The Automation within SICAM PAS is implemented
with a SoftPLC. Automation
Automation functions are configured with function
blocks (CFC = Continuous Function Chart) or with
Structured Text (ST).
In addition to the
standard function
blocks, an extensive
library of specific,
system tested PAS
function blocks is also
available
Automation - CFC
CFC function blocks for typical substation automation tasks are
available
Command processing
Command execution and Command derivation Automation
Signal processing
Signal derivation
Signal filtering
Signal inversion and conversion
Grouping of signals into one
Transformer taps- and bit pattern comparison
Interlocks
Measured- and counter value processing
Non linear conversion
Limit value monitoring
Drag indicator
Calculation of averages
Blocks for arithmetic and comparisons
Switching sequences
Control Authority
The control authority defines which level (bay, station or SCADA) is
authorized for switchgear operation
In addition to the local / remote setting on the bay device, it is also
possible to switch between local and remote control at the station level
Furthermore, the control authority can also be configured to be channel
specific, e.g. TC2 is authorized for operation and the other TC channels
and the local control is not.

Bay Blocking
In the case of maintenance works it may be useful to interrupt
the data flow from the respective bay to the system
(in command and monitoring direction). For the Operators, the
bay status appears as frozen.
The bay blocking can be activated device specific

Telecontrol Blocking
LikeBay Blocking, in case of maintenance works, it may
be useful to interrupt the data flow to the SCADA system
while keeping the full functionality at the station level
Furthermore, it is possible to configure the station
blocking for specific channels, while keeping others fully
functional

Time Synchronization I
Use of a time-synchronization module in the Station Unit
Hopf card (DCF77 or GPS)
The Station Unit accepts the time synchronization signal
for the connected devices (if the communication protocol supports
it) and, if used
for the HMI PC connected via Ethernet (SICAM PAS CC)

Time Synchronization II
A separate time master for Ethernet can be used
especially in configuration with the Ethernet station bus
(IEC 61850). It is the SNTP-Server (Simple Network Time
Protocol). It synchronizes all connected devices (SNTP-
Clients), incl. the Station Unit
Meinberg or Siemens SICLOCK
Also in this case, the Station Unit is the time master
for all devices which are connected via usual
communication protocols.

Fault Recording I
Fault recording of protection devices connected with
IEC 60870-5-103, Profibus FMS and IEC 61850
Automatic transmission of fault records
Automatic archiving of fault records in communication-specific folders on the
Full Server or DIP
Evaluation of fault records with SICAM Recpro
SICAM Recpro Explorer
for clear navigation of the fault recording archives
selectable display of the technical structure or the station topology
SICAM Recpro Collector
for the superior level archiving of fault records of several station units
on a central station unit
after transmission of fault records to the superior level station unit, the
fault records may be deleted in the original archive (optional, in
particular in connection with embedded systems with little disc space)
Comtrade Viewer
Program delivered within the scope of SICAM Recpro for visualisation
of fault records)
The SIGRA 4 software can be used for a more sophisticated analysis of fault
records (not included in the delivery)
