Data Analysis
Table 1
Table 1 shows us a representation of the respondents profiles in
terms of age, gender and college theyre enrolled in. Financial
literacy is the understanding of money and its proper utilization to
make wise financial decisions. This is a necessity which every
individual must have regardless of age, gender, citizenship, religion,
race, or political affiliation. Likewise, this plays a huge factor in
affecting peoples lifestyle choices.

The table also shows that majority of the respondents were in

the range 19-20 years old with a weighted mean of 49.50. While with
a weighted mean of 0.30 and ranked the least is ranged 15 to 16
years old. This suggests the implication of K-12 wherein high school
graduates are in their currently senior high school years. All of the
college students now are on their sophomore to senior year.
Table 1
The table also shows that most of the respondents are male, this
is due to the fact that majority of the respondents are enrolled in
Lyceum International Maritime academy, a campus dominated by
male marine students. This suggests that these maritime programs
are more suitable for men.

The table also presents that the highest mean for number of
respondents per college of 36.70 belongs to Lyceum International
Maritime Academy. In relation with this, the researchers suggest that
this is due to the quality education offered by the university in
maritime courses and LIMA is the only maritime school in Batangas
that has in-house trainings and certifications.

With a weighted mean of 0.30, College of Nursing ranked the

least. This suggests that nursing in the Philippines has declined its
demand.
