What is Intelligence?

Ability to perceive information and to retain it as

knowledge to be applied towards adaptive

behaviours within an environment or context.

(Wikipedia.org, 2017).
Multiple intelligence
The theory of multiple intelligences differentiates

intelligence into specific (primarily sensory)

'modalities', rather than seeing intelligence as

dominated by a single general ability.

The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr.

Howard Gardner, professor of education at Harvard University.

Traditional notion of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too

limited.

Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a

broader range of human potential in children and adults.

Dr. Gardners eight Intelligences
1. Linguistic intelligence ("word smart")

2. Logical-mathematical

intelligence ("number/reasoning smart")

3. Spatial intelligence ("picture smart")

4. Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence ("body smart")

1. Musical intelligence ("music smart")

2. Interpersonal intelligence ("people smart")

3. Intrapersonal intelligence ("self smart")

4. Naturalist intelligence ("nature smart")
