According to the World Banks global

risk analysis Natural Disaster Hotspots
Report, Romania is a multi-hazard
hotspot.

The mortality risk for two or more

hazards affects 14% of the land area,
exposing 33% of the population which
represents over 7 million people.

The economic risk from two or more

hazards would impact 37.4% of the
area, exposing 50.3% of the GDP.

Accordingly, this area affects over 9

million people, representing over 45%
of the total population.
