OVERVIEW
What is climate change?
Climate change is the long-term change in average
weather conditions, including temperature,
precipitation and wind.

What's the difference between global warming

and climate change?
Global warming is the increase in the earths
average temperature due to greenhouse gas build
up in the atmosphere.
Causes
he main cause is human expansion of the
"greenhouse effect.
Certain gases in the atmosphere block heat
from escaping.
Burning fossil fuels and releasing carbon
dioxide.
Deforestation affects carbon dioxide levels.
As cattle ranching is increased, methane
levels are increased .
Rice farming creates waterlogged.
Using fertilizers in agriculture systems.

Necrosis of firs in Peloponnesus.

47% of local fishes are in emergency.

The seal Monachus is in danger.

The brown bear is in extinction.

FUTURE SCENARIOS
Temperatures will continue to rise.

Frost-free season will lengthen.

More droughts and heat waves.

Hurricanes will become stronger and more

intensive.

Sea level will rise.

Arctic is likely to become ice-free.

Preventing methods
Improving the energy efficiency of buildings.

Stopping deforestation - planting trees.

Reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases.

Developing alternative renewable energy

sources.
Precautionary measures
Use of manual lawnmowers rather than electric or diesel ones.

Use of biofuels.

Consumerism of organic and lower down the food chain.

Use of public transport, bikes or walk, instead of personal

vehicles.
Reduction of heating.

Use of energy-efficient products,

Unplug appliances when you do not use them.

Reduce the use of air conditioning and refrigerants.
