The impressionist style of painting is characterized chiefly by
concentration on the general impression produced by a scene of
object and the use of unmixed primary colors and small strokes to
simulate actual reflected light.
Impressionism: a literary or artistic style that seeks to capture a
feeling or experience rather than to achieve accurate depiction.
Artist such as, Claude Monet and Pierre Auguste Renoir are
known for breaking out from the official art style and
discovering this new technique.
For this project, try to investigate the impressionist theory and apply
the practice of using raw color and striation brushwork onto
canvas in an effort to create an impression of the real world
reflected in light.
Pointillism: small, distinct dots of color applied in patterns to form
an image.
