What is Atoll?
Atoll is a 64-bit multi-technology wireless network design and optimisation platform
that supports wireless operators throughout the network lifecycle, from initial design
to densification and optimisation.
Atoll includes integrated single RAN multiple RAT network design capabilities for
both 3GPP (GSM/UMTS/LTE/NB-IoT) and 3GPP2 (CDMA/LTE/NB-IoT) technology
streams. It provides operators and vendors with a powerful native 64-bit framework
for designing and optimising multi-technology networks.
TheAtoll Live moduleallows integrating live network measurement data such as
KPIs and UE/cell traces with predictions and adds open-loop SON capabilities to Atoll.
Atoll supports multi-technology HetNets, C-RAN deployment, small cell planning, and
also provides IoT network design and optimisation capabilities through the IoT/LPWA
and NB-IoT modules.
Atolls integration and automation features help operators smoothly automate
planning and optimisation processes through flexible scripting and SOA-based
mechanisms. Atoll supports a wide range of implementation scenarios, from
standalone to enterprise-wide server-based configurations.
With more than 8000 active licenses installed with 500+ customers in 140 countries,
Atoll has become the industry standard for radio network planning and optimisation.

Clutter:
Clutter refers to a Land Use/Land Cover classification of surface
features which impact on radio wave propagation. These
features are classed according to their physical and electrical
properties.

classes):

Heights in MAP:
Clutter altitude: aka Digital Terrain Model (DTM) is a
continuous model of ground-level land surface,
represented by a digital raster grid with each grid cell
holding an elevation value. A DTM is a fundamental
data input for radio propagation studies in that terrain
blocks and reflects radio waves.

Clutter height: the average building height on clutter.
