followed by library work

I acknowledge Prof. Palash Das and Prof.

Geography is all around us.
Geography is an integrated,
interdisciplinary subject. In
the ancient period geography
was treated as a spatial
science. But now a days the
circumpherence of
geography is enlarged. As a
example we can say that
in geography we can
include the violence
against woman as social
pathology . Hence it is
relevant to discuss its
relationship with other
subjects.
WHAT IS
GEOGRAPHY ?
The study of
the earth and
its features
and of the
distribution of
the life on the
earth,
including
human life
and effects of
human
activity.
0BJECTIVES

Understand the spatial

relationships of humans to their
natural world.

Understand the types of

human activity in an
area in relation to
many natural features

Also it can help us understand

both our physical earth
landforms, weather, natual
disasters and human geography
how people live.

It helps understand past to

prepare for future.

OTHER DICIPLINCES
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GEOGRAPHY AND
HISTORY :
According to Herodotus All
history must be treated as
geographically and all
geography must be treated
as historically.

If we talk about the ancient

civilizations we can found that
all the civilizations were
established along the
geographical features like river,
lake, pond, coastline etc. to
achieve its benefits.
RELATION As

BIOLOGY:
Harappa civilization.
Geography is closely related
Darwin
to biology. According to Charles
Darwin, origin of the species Finch
by means of natural
selection that indicates in a
suitable natural and geographical
area a plant or animal species can
evaluated naturally. Ex- when he
visited to the Galapagos
island he noticed that the
island supported is own form
of Finch bird.
As a branch of geography
Bio-geography deals with
biology.
RELATION BETWEEN
GEOGRAPHY AND MATHEMATICS:

Mathematics or
Quantitative Aptitude is
highly related to
Quantitative
geography and Map
Projection.

To determine scale, Bonns projection

we have to apply the

with the different types of
reaction in natural

SOCIOLOGY- ANTHROPOLOGY:
Sociology deals with
different social elements like,
society, competition,
conflict, social
stratification, social
pathology etc. which also
discussed in social

RELATIAON BETWEEN GEOGAPHY AND
POLITICAL SCIENCE:

Political science deals

with the definite political
area regards with political
geography.

Ex- According to the

political region .

At present Geography is
becoming more
independent with Computer
Science.
Without having the
computer knowledge it is
very difficult to prepare any
digital modern geographical
presentation.
As the R.S and G.I.S is
totally based on
computerized process, we
CONCLUSION
In the light of the above
discussion as geography
deals with all natural, floral
and faunal things which is
naturally connected with

as a social science we
should know geography
properly to know the
