Keith Allen Haring:(May 4, 1958 February 16, 1990) was an
Americanartist and social activist whose work responded to
the New York Citystreet culture of the 1980s by expressing
concepts of birth, death, love, and war.
Haring's work was often heavily politicaland his imagery has
become a widely recognized visual language of the 20th
century.
He was known for Pop Art and Graffiti Art.
Education: The Ivy School of Professional Art (Pittsburgh)
School of Visual Arts(New York.)
Collaborative Art: the act of working with another or others
on a joint project/artwork.

COLLABORATIVE ART
1. Sketchbook Requirement: Write down Keith Harings Artwork:
art terms/history in your sketchbook.
2. Requirements for each table group:
-Choose 1 person to lay down on a large
sheet of paper.
-In pencil: 1 person will trace the
outline of a students body.
-All group members will draw different
patterns around the figure Student Examples:
silhouette/outline.
-Paint all pencil lines with black paint.
-Paint inside the figure outline with a
solid color (ex. red, blue, etc.)
-Neatly lay artwork on floor/out of the
way/or hang on wall to dry.
-Write every group members names on
the back before painting.
EXTENDED LESSON-KEITH

1. In pencil, as a group draw
different
patterns/objects/animals/
symbols, etc. (Use Keith
Harings artwork for
inspiration.)
2. Go over all pencil
lines/drawings in black
paint. (If you have time,
you can use a different
color with the black
outlines.)
