What is water quality?
The physical, chemical & Biological characteristics of
water with respect to its suitability for designated use.

What is water quality analysis?


It is to measure the required parameters of water to
check whether they are in accordance with BIS
standards.
OBJECTIVE
To measure the required parameters of water to
check whether they are in accordance with BIS
standards.
To monitor the efficiency of a system working for
water quality maintenance.
Public health [especially for drinking purpose]

River : Hemavathi
Origin : Ballala rayana durga
Length: 245 km.
Reservoir: At GORUR.
Its a main tributary of river Kaveri.
It joins Kaveri at K R SAGARA.
SAMPLING METHODS
There are three sampling methods.
1. Grab sampling.
2. Intercepted sampling.
3. Composite sampling.

We adopt Grab sampling method for


sampling of water.
