Literature Review
Emotion-focused training is a collaborative effort to help
participants use their emotions intelligently to solve their
problems and reach their goals.

Tru, C. (2013) concludes that emotional intelligence consists of

adaptive emotional functioning involving inter-related
competencies relating to perception, understanding, utilising
and managing emotions in the self and others.

Rue and Byars (1992) refer to job satisfaction as an individuals

mental state about their job. Job satisfaction refers to how
content an individual is in his/her current position. Job
satisfaction is a very important attribute which is frequently
measured by organisations in order to ensure that their
workforce is optimal.
Literature Review
Job performance has been defined as the overall expected
value from employees behaviors carried out over the course of
a set period of time (Motowidlo, Borman, & Schmidt, 1997)

According to Lockwood (2006) retention is a critical element of

an organizations more general approach to talent
management, which is defined as the implementation of
integrated strategies or systems designed to increase
workplace productivity by developing improved processes for
attracting, developing, retaining, and utilizing people with the
required skills and aptitude to meet current and future business
needs.

Research Design
The research will use a quantitative design as well as experimental
design, with pre-test and post-test measurements.

Variables will be measured with: A Survey; - One closed-ended item for

assessment of turnover intentions (In the following year, do you intend to
change your workplace?)

The sampling is simple random sampling whereby the participants will be

30 teachers in between age of 25 to 35 ,all female teachers from our
primary year program. (eliminate emotional level differences)

The experimental intervention is a training program designed as a short-

term intervention. The program will last for three months, with weekly
group meetings.

The training is structured on the following modules: general aspects

regarding emotions and emotion regulation and management which will
have several different activities including reflective analysis of situations,
reflective diary, role-playing, scripts analysis, analysis of short-films.
Survey will be given pre and post training to see the effect of training to
turnover intentions and the 3 other variables.
