The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) is a statutory body established in 1993 to regulate and develop Malaysia's capital markets. The SC supervises stock exchanges, clearing houses, corporate bond issues, mergers and acquisitions, unit trusts, and licensed persons. Its objective is to promote fair, efficient, secure and transparent securities and futures markets. The SC administers the Securities Commission Act 1993, Capital Markets and Services Act 2007, and Securities Industry (Central Depositories) Act 1991. It has a board of nine commission members, led by chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Ranjit Ajit Singh.

It reports to the Minister of Finance and its accounts are tabled in Parliament annually.
