UNITS
International System of Units (SI):
Dimensions refer to the qualitative The basic units are length, time, and
mass which are arbitrarily defined as
characteristics for physical quantities,
the meter (m), second (s), and
while units are standards of
kilogram (kg). Force is the derived
comparison for the quantitative
unit,
measurement of dimensions. F ma

CGS accl=1cm/s2
MKS accl=9.81m/s2

Speed is a scalar quantity which refers to "how
fast an object is moving."
Speed can be thought of as the rate at which an
object covers distance. A fast-moving object has
a high speed and covers a relatively large
distance in a short amount of time.
A slow-moving object has a low speed and
covers a relatively small amount of distance in a
short amount of time. An object with no
movement at all has a zero speed.

Velocity is a vector quantity which refers to "the
rate at which an object changes its position.

Instantaneous Speed - the speed at any given

instant in time.

Average Speed - the average of all

instantaneous speeds; found simply by a
distance/time ratio.

Acceleration is a vector quantity which is
defined as the rate at which an object
changes its velocity.
An object is accelerating if it is changing
its velocity.

Distance= length of the path covered

Speed= Distance/ unit time

Displacement=Final position-Initial position

Velocity= (Final position Initial position) / unit

time

Acceleration= (Final velocity-Initial velocity)/ unit

Convert kgf/cm2 to N/m2
Convert 1Pa to N/cm2
1kgf=9.81N and 1cm2=10-4m2
So
1Pa=1N/m2=1N/100 cm2=10-2N/cm2
