Edmund Barton's parents were Mary Louise Barton and William Barton , His sisters were
Harriet Barton, Sarah Sophia Barton, Anna Louisa Hobbs, Mary Eamont Bryant, Alice
Barton, Ellen Barton, Elizabeth Agnes Barton , His brothers were George Burnett Barton,
Sydney Fitzgerald Barton, William Barton.

His wife was Jane Barton, His daughters were Wilfred Alexander Barton, Jean Alice
Barton, Leila Stephanie Barton and his sons were Edmund Alfred Barton, Arnold Hubert

He was head of the protectionist party.


Edmund Barton was an Australian politician and judge.
He served as the first Prime Minister of Australia from 1901 to 1903.
Edmund Barton resigned as Prime Minister in 1903 to become a
judge of the High Court of Australia, serving until his death in 1920

Edmund Barton was educated at Sydney Grammar School, where he was twice top
in class and school captain
He met Jane Mason Ross in 1870 and married her in 1877
Edmund Barton practiced law from 1871 and at the age of 30 was elected to the
New South Wales Legislative Assembly.
At the first session of the Australasian Federal Convention in 1897 he was elected
convention leader and chairman of the constitutional committee.
In March 1900 Barton led an Australian delegation to London to assist the passage
of the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Bill through the British parliament.
He resigned as prime minister in 1903 to become

Australia looked very different before colonisation
there were no shops, schools, hospitals or even
toilets, also you had to hunt for your own food or
just eat what you could find ,also you had to make
your own your own homes. But now we have all
those things everywhere in Australia there are
stores for example Target and Kmart or there are
schools like Ilim College and lots of different
hospitals like the Royal Children Hospital so you
see life was very hard and different back then but
now it is very easy to find most things I just
described

THEN WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE IN THE OLDEN DAYS ALL
THINGS HAVE CHANGED OVER TIME ALMOST EVERYTHING IS
BETTER NOW THEN IN THE OLDEN DAYS FOR EXAMPLE THERE
WHERE NO MODERN CARS BACK THEN OR SUPERMARKETS
OR PROPER SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

In the olden days there wasnt access to fresh water but now there is access
to fresh water everywhere in
Australia
