Formulating Your Strategies
To Be informed
Know what to expect on the TOEFL test. If you are informed, you will not be surprised and
confused on the day of the exam.
To Review
To succeed on the TOEFL, you must have studied English already. It is not possible to achieve
an excellent score if you are just beginning to study English.
It is possible to make a higher score by reviewing what you have already studied, especially
when you concentrate on the type of English that appears most often on the TOEFL.
To Practice
Do a simulation on the items on the TOEFL exam. Try to you understand the directions for each
section.
Learn test strategies as well : how to manage your time on each section, how to eliminate
possible answer choices, and when to guess.
To Evaluate
Estimate your score before you take the test . Take it at the point when you have the best
opportunity to succeed.
Grading your Test

5. 161 / 3 = 53.7
